UPDATE: the site appears to be back to its normal functionality, and CNG has responded. See comments below. Beware of clicking on any links at the web site for the Brooklyn Paper until further notice.

The site appears to have been taken over by a similar design to its normal layout, but with Jewish-themed news links. The links could lead to spamware or malware. In fact, even venturing to the site’s main page might be dangerous at this time. The site for the Brooklyn Courier, CNGLocal’s companion paper, remains up and running. CNG Local has responded in the comments section, advising this is a partner they work with.

Deputy editor for The Brooklyn Paper here. I am sitting at my desk as I was when you wrote this post. I am not sure what you mean by “could not be reached for comment,” but I fear that it could be “did not click on ‘Contact us’ link.” Also, do not fear navigating over to Our pals over at the Bar and Bat Mitzvah Guide, also a Community Newspaper Group publication, have all of your bar and bat mizvah needs covered.

Good to know! I e-mailed every contact I could find at CNG, but no one responded.
